A different
perspective.

Innovative design that is fresh, yet evokes a sense of permanence. Details that are deceptively simple. Style bound only by the client's individuality. A creation that is inspired by a client's goals and realized through a designer's passion for his craft.

push the boundaries.

The notion of the idea factory was initially conceived in 1998. Working in a fast paced studio saturated with creativity, we were merchants of inventive solutions. That is our product. The dreams of a client. The potential of a site. The introduction of a modern solution. The application of an established detail. The idea factory is based on one simple question.

‍What if?....

homes designed by the clients.

The clients share with me their taste, their lifestyle and their goals. Using these concepts, I translate the ideas into plans and elevations. A collaboration of the client’s dreams and and a designer’s expertise.

It all begins with
‍curiosity.

Owner & Designer

I started my design career in the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University. After graduating, I moved to Austin and started working at Jeffrey Berkus Architects.
‍
My experience at JBA consisted of projects in golf course community planning, ski mountain condominiums, builder parade homes, but most of all individual custom homes. The process of designing homes for clients was learned over many late evenings in the studio with Jeff and a trial by fire approach that is the nature of a fast paced office.
‍
After working in Austin for seven years, I decided to challenge my skills in New York City. I worked in an office specializing in high end residential projects in Manhattan. My work here took my knowledge to a new level of detail and complexity, along with a broad understanding historical urban construction
‍
I have been designing custom homes in the Lake Norman area since 2004
